Seminars

El 13 Tango Club offers
seminars on listening to tango
or the practice of Djing

The Djs of our group have a lot of experience. We musicalized approximately 1000 milongas during our 11 years of existence in France and beyond.
We also listened to many other DJs and we discussed our respective practices to try to objectify them as much as possible.
We propose to share this experience through workshops or conferences.

DJING COURSE – Part I – DJING PRACTICE

Goal

For us, it is clear that the DJ is an artist. As such, he must both know the basic rules that anchor his practice and offer the dancer an experience that tends to exceed them.

This artistic practice is not fixed, it is constantly evolving, however, it is essential to know certain basic rules based on the traditional milonga of Buenos Aires.

Then, through listening to different great DJs, some models emerge that can serve as inspiration.

In any case, the DJ has to be attentive to his interaction with the dance floor, because in the end his goal is to make as many dancers as possible dance for as long as possible.

Finally, we propose a collective experience sharing session, because we are more DJs than we are teachers….

Audience

This seminar is mainly aimed at DJs or people who want to learn about this practice.

DURATION

Between 1H30 and 3H.

Equipment

Provide a video projector or, at worst, a flip chart.
Also provide a sound system or an amplified speaker.

DJING TRAINING – Part II – TECHNICAL ASPECTS

GOAL

Knowing the tango and knowing who is going to animate a milonga is essential.
Nevertheless, there is an aspect often neglected by DJs: how to get the best possible sound to the audience of dancers?

This workshop will deal with the technical part of djing: the software, the material, the collections, the organisation of files, the equalisation etc…

AUDIENCE

This seminar is mainly aimed at DJs or people who want to learn about this practice.

DURATION

Between 1H30 and 3H.

EQUIPMENT

listening to the tango

GOAL

To update the different celements of tango
i.e. its grammar (the rules on which it is based) and its vocabulary (the constituent elements it uses)

To give objective elements to appreciate it.
The greater the understanding, the better the feeling.

Improving listening and dancing
The dance is a reflection of the music, and better listening to the music will produce a better dance.

AUDIENCE

This seminar is for all tango dancers who want to better understand and appreciate the music they love.
We have given it to large audiences or in smaller groups.

DURATION

Between 1H30 and 3H.

EQUIPMENT

Also provide a sound system or an amplified speaker.
